Draft Financial Concession and Mayoral Discretionary Fund Policy

At the Extraordinary Council Meeting held on Monday 11 May 2026, Council resolved to place the Draft Financial Concession and Mayoral Discretionary Fund Policy on public exhibition.

Council last adopted the Financial Assistance, Grants and Donations Policy (CA-CP-02) in April 2022.

This Policy has been reviewed and amended with a view to best reflect how Council can continue to provide financial and in-kind assistance to eligible community groups, organisations or individuals, through a fair, affordable, transparent and strategic allocation and proposes a two (2) stream system as follows:

  1. Financial Concession – provision of reduced hire costs, fees or charges or in-kind support for events
  2. Mayoral Discretionary Fund – token donations available at the discretion of the Mayor to support small projects, community initiatives or contributions on behalf of Council.

The revised Financial Concession and Mayoral Discretionary Fund Policy will be on public exhibition until 4.00pm on Friday 12 June 2026.
